水平線の表情

東京国際大学では、 100 カ国以上の留学生とともに学ぶ環境を整え、優れた国際的人材の養成に力を入れている。キャンパス内では低層から高層までを地球の緯度になぞらえ、各国から望む水平線のイメージを展開した。各階は東西にゾーン分けされ、視線の先の方角に位置する国々のシーンを配置している。現在地の高さと位置を把握できる 337 カ所の仕掛けが、空間のサイン性と独自性を高め、活発なコミュニケーションももたらしている。

Expression of the Horizon

At Tokyo International University, students from more than 100 countries come together in an environment dedicated to fostering globally minded talent.
Across the campus, the vertical sequence from low-rise to high-rise is likened to the latitudes of the Earth, with each level presenting a horizon inspired by views from different parts of the world. Each floor is divided into east and west zones, featuring scenes associated with countries located in the corresponding directions.
A total of 337 design elements help visitors understand their current height and position within the campus. These interventions enhance the identity and way finding qualities of the space while encouraging active communication among students.

素材・仕上げとカラースキーム

総合案内サインや講義室の名称サインでは、金属の素地に直接インクジェット印刷を施すダイレクトプリントを用い、素材の表情を生かしつつ様々な画像を転写している。

また、大型のサインでは彩度を落とし、小型のサインでは彩度を上げることで、コンテンツに応じた最適な可読性が得られるようにコントロールし、ゾーニングも分かりやすくするトーン設定とした。

Materials, Finishes and Color Scheme

For the general information signs and lecture room name signs, direct inkjet printing is applied directly to the metal substrate, allowing various images to be transferred while preserving the natural expression of the material.

For larger signs, the saturation is reduced, while for smaller signs, it is increased. This tonal adjustment is carefully controlled to achieve optimal legibility according to the content, while also making the zoning easy to understand.
